Our stern tubes are made from superior materials such as mild steel, aluminium, bronze, polyester, or epoxy GRP. They come in standard sizes from stock, fully machined and, if necessary, assembled with shaft seals and bearings.
Superior GRP stern tube assemblies that are impervious to delamination and saltwater conditions are guaranteed by our in-house manufacturing. IACS requirements are satisfied by hydrostatic testing, and a variety of fitting options, including glass-in, weld-in, and chockfast, satisfy a range of needs.
Select CJR for stern tubes that are highly durable and improve the performance and longevity of your boat.
Rudders
Standard Rudders
CJR employs advanced CFD and FEA design tools to customise rudders for optimal performance and longevity. With precise calculations for flow dynamics, hydrodynamic loading, and structural requirements, our rudders meet the highest standards of classification societies. Available in materials like NiBral or high tensile bronze, CJR offers versatile manufacturing approaches for tailored solutions to suit diverse applications. Notably, our standard rudders feature an aerofoil section, enhancing their overall efficiency and performance.
Flow Aligned Twisted Rudders
Through an innovative CJR approach, we precisely simulate forces impacting propulsion systems, predicting their effects on performance. This enables the design of a uniquely optimised, ‘twisted’ rudder profile aligned with propeller flow angles. This design reduces suction pressure peaks, minimising cavitation, vibration, and vessel resistance while enhancing overall performance. Integrated into a fully optimised propulsion package, these rudders contribute to up to a 2kts speed increase, improved efficiency, reduced noise, and potential fuel savings of up to 3%. Manufactured to meet classification society rules, including IACS societies.
